The Pink Motel
Short Synopsis
By Yves Bernas
ROGER, a retired civil servant, still attractive but shy, meets INGRID, an extrovert, somewhat narcissistic and widow of DR SWEED (a cloning pioneer). They fall in love and get married.
Some time later, Ingrid falls ill. To save her, Roger must find her clone. The clone is called SANDY and is much younger than her!
Roger finds Sandy. She is Ingrid, just 30 years younger! He is captivated by her beauty. He struggles out of loyalty to Ingrid with his emerging feelings and desire towards Sandy.
Ingrid is torn between her narcissistic love for Sandy and her hatred for the woman with whom (as we later learn) her late husband cheated on her. A suspenseful comedy-drama set in a world of cloning and an organ trafficking subplot.
The comedy aspect lives from the contrast between Ingrid’s flamboyant personality and that of Roger, always in understatement, who sometimes has to put up with a lot to keep her love.
A screenplay that shatters the cliché that a woman must be young and beautiful to be loved.
